Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s Vice President of Finance and Group Financial Controller Michael Gray has been honoured at the prestigious 2015 HM Awards.
Hosted by television personality Lisa Wilkinson, the awards recognised the accommodation industry’s finest staff, properties, brands and chains across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Mr Gray was named the winner of the Finance Associate category alongside Victoria Benevolenskaya from Sheraton on the Park in Sydney.
Based at Wyndham Corporate Centre on the Gold Coast, Mr Gray joined the company in 2013 and is responsible for a team of 46.
He is continually looking for opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and his technical knowledge has enabled the preparation of accounting position papers to be performed in-house, placing less reliance on external professional advisors. His extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions has also assisted the company in undertaking pre-acquisition due diligence as well as with the integration of new acquisitions.
Mr Gray has more than 20 years’ financial experience and previously worked as the International Finance Manager at Billabong International Limited for four years. He has held senior finance leadership roles for businesses including Villa World Limited, Tabcorp Holdings Limited, Domain Principal Group and Ocean Capital Limited.
Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific President and Managing Director Barry Robinson said the award was well-deserved.
“Michael’s extensive knowledge and varied work experience have made him an invaluable asset to the Wyndham team,” Mr Robinson said.
The 2015 HM Awards were held at Sydney Town Hall on Friday, September 4.
