Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, WRVAPAfter a year of tireless fundraising, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific has donated $50,000 to the Animal Welfare League of Queensland (AWLQ).

In 2014, Wyndham’s philanthropic arm, Wishes by Wyndham, named the AWLQ as its ‘signature’ charity and organised a year-long calendar of fundraising events.

This week, during his annual company address, the President and Managing Director of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific and Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim, Barry Robinson, presented the AWLQ’s Fundraising Manager, David Hoskot, with a cheque for $50,000.

“I am extremely proud of the tremendous effort our Wishes by Wyndham volunteers put into this year’s fundraising program,” Mr Robinson said.

“The AWLQ is a much loved Gold Coast-based organisation who undertake vital work rehoming animals in need, as well as educating the public to address this problem at a grassroots level.”

The AWLQ’s David Hoskot said, “AWLQ is thrilled at this very substantial donation and would like to sincerely thank all the dedicated staff and management at Wyndham for their kindness and generosity in supporting our charity over the past year.

With a thriving Bundall-based corporate office of over 500 people, Wyndham was involved in a number of successful events including a Trivia Night, the Gold Coast Marathon and an online Pet Pageant.

Staff were also able to make regular salary donations through Wyndham’s Workplace Giving Program.

Wishes by Wyndham is a global philanthropic program developed by Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s US-based parent company, Wyndham Worldwide, and is coordinated in the South Pacific by a team of volunteer employees from across the company.
