A complete, multimillion-dollar transformation is currently underway at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, owned by Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: HST) and located just minutes from San Francisco International Airport. The hotel’s top-to-bottom renovation will unveil a stylish new design with refreshed guestrooms, public spaces and events spaces, along with a reimagined food and beverage program featuring chef-driven dining options. The 650,000-square-foot hotel will remain operational during the phased renovation process, which is expected to complete by summer of 2016.

“The renovation reflects our guests’ preferences for intuitive, energized, upscale accommodations in close proximity to the airport,” said Irby Morvant, general manager, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. “We want to offer an experience where our guests can connect and make things happen, while enjoying modern comforts that they expect when traveling including amenities like free WiFi, a state of the-art-fitness facility, and seasonal, locally-sourced dining options.”
The renovation will transform Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport into a relaxing home away from home for guests, featuring a stunning new design led by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) and EDG Interior Architecture + Design. The redesigned property will pay homage to its unique location on the San Francisco Bay with details inspired by the juxtaposition of the bay and nearby salt marshes overlaid by the city grid of San Francisco. Tranquility and nature underscore the design, highlighted by a color palette of cool-toned blues and greys and accented by a curated collection of artwork by local San Francisco Bay Area artists. The redesign also places much focus on eco-conscious and sustainable building practices through the use of recycled materials.
The preferred hotel of many San Francisco-bound business and leisure travelers, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport is home to numerous conventions, weddings and events each year. The renovation will bring two brand-new ballrooms to the hotel: The Cypress Ballroom, a sleek and contemporary space featuring 9-foot-6-inch ceilings and innovative meetings features; and The Sequoia Ballroom, an expansive yet inviting space featuring artistic chandeliers, generous 10-foot-6-inch ceilings, and the capability to combine with the hotel’s vast central atrium for an event space unlike any other. Both ballrooms feature scenic views of the San Francisco Bay, ample natural sunlight, and intuitive amenities and offerings for groups of any size or variety. Post-renovation, the hotel will be able to accommodate groups up to 2,200 and will boast 69,285 square feet of flexible function space, inclusive of its spacious foyer, seven-story atrium and poolside pavilion.
Full updates are also underway for the hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms. A sleek, artfully-designed lobby and redesigned seven-story central atrium will welcome guests, and the hotel’s state-of-the-art fitness center will double in size with the renovation. With 789 beautifully redesigned guest rooms, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport will offer relaxing, modern accommodations for guests with thoughtful appointments such as double-paned windows to reduce exterior noise to minimal levels, drop-down shades to improve tranquility, luxurious new Hyatt Grand Beds, and top-of-the-line HD televisions. Each guest room will be decorated in the same cool-toned palette as the public spaces and will feature carefully selected artwork from Bay Area artists.
An innovative culinary program, led by Executive Chef Bernard Foster, will be unveiled with the renovation, providing guests and locals alike with exciting new dining options. Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport’s 3 SIXTY will be an all-in-one dining experience seamlessly incorporating a bar, lounge, restaurant and market. 3 SIXTY’s menus will be specially designed to support local farmers and purveyors in Northern California and will change seasonally to ensure sustainable purchases and practices, reflecting Hyatt’s overall commitment to food that is thoughtfully sourced and carefully served. Guests and visitors will be able to choose from a variety of dining options including healthy grab-and-go choices, sit-down dining, sharable small plates and packaged meal delivery for in-room dining.
