COSTA MESA, California (Thursday, July 30, 2020) — Northstar Travel Group and The BHN Group announced today the unification of this year’s traditional onsite Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) and Hotel Opportunities Latin America (HOLA) events into one online conference called CHRIS+HOLA Connect. The change reflects the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and associated CDC guidelines, social distancing measures, and travel restrictions.
The company plans to hold separate onsite, in-person CHRIS and HOLA conferences again in Spring 2021 (dates to be announced) at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
CHRIS+HOLA Connect will combine two traditional in-person events into one online virtual hotel investment conference focused on the Caribbean and Latin American regions. The three-day virtual event, scheduled for September 8-10, 2020, will include five plenary sessions, eight Caribbean-specific breakout sessions, eight Latin America-specific breakout sessions, and multiple networking opportunities. The event’s content will continue to be geared toward hotel owners/investors, developers, brands, and lenders.
Registration for the event costs $295 through August 19 ($395 on or after August 20).

“We held out hope that the COVID-19 situation would continue to abate and allow us to proceed with the onsite conferences, but with the latest virus spikes and quarantines, it is in the best interest of our delegates, speakers, sponsors and colleagues to unify these conferences into a single online event this year,” said Jeff Higley, President of The BHN Group. “While nothing compares to the interaction, networking, and education of a live, onsite event, the advancements in virtual platforms allows us to present an event that promotes many of those same aspects in an online environment. It’s important for the Caribbean and Latin American hotel investment communities to gather in some capacity during these unpredictable times.”
