The team at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific have taken on personal challenges and coordinated fundraising events to raise more than $66,000 towards a number of children’s charities in 2015.

Last year, the company’s philanthropic program, Wishes by Wyndham, pledged to donate towards four national charities that provide emotional and financial support to seriously ill children and their families.

Through a range of fundraising activities, including a fitness challenge, healthy cooking competitions and creating a team for the Gold Coast Marathon, more than 500 staff exceeded targets for all the charities supported including Make-A-Wish Foundation, SIDS and Kids, Leukaemia Foundation and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

“These fundraising efforts are entirely due to the money given and time volunteered by our staff at Wyndham Corporate Centre on the Gold Coast as well as our resorts and sales staff located across Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Robinson said.

“I am extremely proud of my team for working together to support these very worthy charities that are helping so many children and their families through hard times.”

In 2016, Wyndham will begin the year by supporting TLC for Kids, a children’s charity that gives practical and emotional support to sick kids and their families all over Australia.

The TLC for Kids’ Gold Coast Affiliate opened in October last year and is dedicated to raising local funds for local kids in hospital. Team Leader for the Gold Coast Affiliate, Dale Mansfield, said the support from Wyndham would provide a significant boost in the number of families the not-for-profit organisation can assist.

“We are over the moon to have Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific on board with TLC for Kids Gold Coast Affiliate, to start off 2016.

“We are a volunteer team raising local funds to support local sick children in the Gold Coast University and Tweed Hospitals. Our TLC Rapid Request Program has no waiting lists and no criteria and we have the fastest referral system in Australia,” Ms Mansfield continued.

Staff members also have the option to make ongoing salary donations through Wyndham’s Workplace Giving Program.

Wishes by Wyndham is a global philanthropic program developed by Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific and is coordinated in the South Pacific by a team of volunteer employees from across the company.
