Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services, celebrates 20 years in the Colombian market. In August 1995, Interval opened its doors in Bogotá and began providing service to Colombian members. Two decades later, the office has grown from two to 22 employees, who serve both members and resort clients throughout the Andean region, which also includes Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.
Marcos Agostini, Interval’s senior vice president of resort sales and business development for Latin America, reflects on the significance of this anniversary. “The Bogotá office founding employees, Gustavo Hoyos, finance director, and Viviana Rojas, assistant operations manager, have made significant contributions to our growth in this important market. We recently reorganized operations to capitalize on opportunities in this region and continue to see interest in shared ownership from developers.”
To promote industry growth, Interval has hosted a series of seminars in South America to educate potential entrants and has commissioned research to assist active and prospective developers in analyzing market potential.
In further support of regional activity, Interval will host its 17th Annual Shared Ownership Investment Conference at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on September 30 – October 2. For the first time, the conference will include a program designed for Latin American developers, conducted in Spanish, and covering regional hospitality trends. On the agenda are Carlos Aquino, vice president of hospitality of The Villa Group; Juan Luis Londoño, general manager of the tourism division for Constructora Bolívar S.A.; Carlos Henrique Schmidt, president of the advisory board of Plaza Hotéis & Resorts; and Joaquin Serna, CEO of TM México, among other executives across the region.
“Interval has proven to be a valued partner and a significant resource since we began our relationship more than 20 years ago,” Londoño noted. “The company can always be counted on to support our shared ownership business through its industry expertise, timely market research, innovative technology, and upgraded membership programs, all of which help us sell our product.”
