Festiva Development Group, Inc. (FDG), one of the largest privately-held vacation ownership companies in the country, recently announced that Scott Sonnone has been named chief operating officer and Don McQuade is joining Festiva’s executive team as senior vice president of sales.
Sonnone began his relationship with Festiva in 2008 as a member of the board of directors of Zealandia Holding Company, Inc. (ZHC), Festiva’s parent company. As COO, Sonnone has been charged with streamlining daily operations and analyzing management of resources as well as setting and driving performance measures.
“It’s an honor to join Festiva’s executive team and I look forward working alongside each of them to reinvigorate our company’s growth with an eye toward innovation and customer satisfaction,” said Sonnone.
After years of experience working at an executive level in private equity funds, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions; in 2004, Sonnone founded Sweetwater Capital, LLC, a regional investment banking and private equity firm based in Asheville, N.C. Most recently, Sonnone served as CEO of Cane Creek Cycling, a manufacturer of cycling components based in Fletcher, N.C. Sonnone holds a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College.

Patrick went on to say about McQuade, “Don’s depth and breadth of knowledge of our owners and products along with his experience with the company made him a natural choice for SVP of sales. Each will be a great complement to our executive team.”
With over 20 years of industry experience, McQuade began his career with Festiva in March 2009 as a sales director in his hometown of Portland, Maine. He was promoted to regional vice president of sales in December 2009 to oversee Festiva’s Maine and New Orleans sales operations and later, those in Branson and Florida. Prior to joining Festiva, McQuade Spent 12 years in Sedona, Arizona, working for a timeshare developer. McQuade graduated from Northeastern University.

McQuade will be based in Orlando, Florida, where Festiva’s corporate offices are located and Sonnone will be based in Asheville, N.C., home to Zealandia Holding Company.
