Passionate about preserving our planet’s precious resources and creating an eco-friendly environment, Anantara Hua Hin Resort has once again proudly won the title ‘World’s Leading Green Resort’ in the World Travel Awards 2015.
The World Travel Awards serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry, and is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire. Rising amidst stiff competition for this coveted award, Anantara Hua Hin shone in the eyes of the industry for its green initiatives for the second year.
Located on the sunrise coast of the Gulf of Thailand, around 220 kms south of Bangkok, Anantara Hua Hin Resort is a 14 acre oasis of glorious indigenous gardens and lotus filled lagoons. Echoing the design of an ancient Thai village, the resort features 187 garden and sea view guest rooms and suites, world class amenities including seven restaurants and bars, an award-winning Anantara Spa, a fitness centre, tennis courts and two infinity-edge pools.
Its renowned tropical gardens were the creation of globally acclaimed landscape designer Bill Bensley, who describes the results as “biologically interesting by making five distinct sub-gardens; the white garden, the heliconia garden, the red garden, the palm garden and the yellow garden”.
Reinforcing its commitment towards environmental, the resort has integrated sustainable practices to ensure a minimal negative impact on the environment, including such as a lagoon and waste water treatment plant that feeds water to the gardens, regenerating all garden waste and on-property mulching for gardens, as well as 100% LED lighting implementation to conserve energy consumption. Sustainability also features in the resort’s product purchasing, with a focus on products that are durable, repairable and able to be recycled.
“We are honoured to once again be recognized by the World Travel Awards for our dedication to being an environmentally sustainable resort,” says Manish Jha, General Manager of Anantara Hua Hin Resort. “We are constantly reinforcing our commitment towards environmental sustainability. Whether it is as simple as watering our garden with recycled water or going a step further and converting the resort to 100% LED lighting, we make every possible effort to reduce environmental footprint of our operations while continuing to provide memorable experiences to our guests in this beautiful, natural setting.”
