Gold Coast-based hospitality and leisure group, Beneficium, has welcomed several new employees in casual, part time and full time roles on the back of their industry-leading traineeship programs in partnership with registered training organisation, One Step Further.

Trainees at holiday management company, Classic Holidays, and worldwide holiday exchange provider, DAE, have transitioned to employment after participating in the Work Inspiration program – a unique work experience program designed to provide career inspiration and directions for local secondary students.

The award-winning companies have also seen school-based trainees complete their training and move into paid roles, providing career pathways for local students interested in the hospitality and leisure industry.

“Several of our trainees from the past two years are now working in casual and part time rolls in payroll, finance, member services, administration and property, as well as Reception roles in our Gold Coast resorts,” said Beneficium CEO, Ramy Filo.

“From an employer’s perspective, the process has been a great success; starting these young people in our Work Inspiration Program, mentoring them through their traineeships and then reinvesting their skills and experience back into the business.

“One of our new Reception employees from this cohort is also in development for future resort management. It’s a great start for their career, and it allows us to diversify our talent pool with dynamic, innovative young people.

“We’re very proud of what has been achieved for the business and the investment we have made, as a company, in the future of our new employees.”

Beneficium facilitates multiple intakes of school-based trainees and Work Inspiration participants throughout the year, and has so far seen close to 100 students complete training in 2016 alone.
