• The Company has won the Grand Prix 2015 awarded by the Worldwide Hospitality Awards organisation to the global hotel groups, among the world’s top 50 hotels, that marked the previous year with its excellence and performance 
  • NH also picked up the prize for the Best Initiative in Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility for its Hotels with Heart campaign, thereby earning recognition for the charitable work it has been carrying out under the umbrella of its corporate social responsibility strategy for the last 11 years  

NH Hotel Group has won the Grand Prix 2015 as the best international hotel chain as part of the recently-announced Worldwide Hospitality Awards. The prize, which was announced at a ceremony in Paris, acknowledges the work of the hotel company deemed to have stood out among its peers in terms of business performance excellence during the previous year.

Moreover, the Company also picked up a prize in the Best Initiative in Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility category for itsHotels with Heart campaign, the goal of which is to help seriously-ill children and their families by donating rooms in Group hotels located in the vicinity of hospitals in numerous cities all over the world.

Over the past decade, NH has been carrying out this charitable campaign with various foundations and NGOs, donating almost 22,000 room nights to poor families with one of their members hospitalised far from their usual place of residence. Since the programme began, each year, over 2,000 NH Hotel Group employees participate in the campaign on a voluntary basis: not only does the chain offer these families accommodation, it also provides moral support as the Company’s professionals strive to make each hotel a second home for them.

About the Worldwide Hospitality Awards

The Worldwide Hospitality Awards is an international contest organised by the hospitality and tourism consulting expert, MKG Group, which, every year – since 1999 – recognises best practices in the hotel sector across a range of areas, including communication, marketing, innovation, human resources management, social and environmental responsibility and loyalty programmes.

Two international expert juries, one made up of hoteliers and the other of non-hoteliers, made up of prestigious professionals from the world of business, tourism industry and marketing sector, together with voters via the Hospitality ON website, are tasked with selecting the prize winners. For this year’s edition of the awards, in their 16th consecutive year, 45 finalists and winners were selected from over 200 projects presented as candidates for the 15 different categories.
