Employees Partner with Diakonia to Donate Goods to Area Homeless Shelter
Partnering with Diakonia was the idea of Robert Corbey, who is Senior Business Development Coordinator overseeing Vantage’s rentals at Summer Beach.
“Last winter I volunteered at Diakonia to help in the food pantry,” says Corbey. “I learned about their operation and the needs of our Worcester County residents. When I noticed that our guests were leaving behind food and usable items at Summer Beach, we set up a box in the lobby and encourage all to drop off anything they do not want to take home. We have already filled up the box twice!”
Corbey has seen remarkable results since launching the initiative in late June. From boogie boards to coffee tables, more than 60 items have been collected, in addition to multiple monetary donations. Vantage Resort Realty is excited to support this effort and interested in expanding it to other Ocean City properties.
Vantage invites the public to Wave Goodbye to Hunger at Summer Beach. Robert Corbey can be reached at (410) 213-5469, or via email at RCorbey@VantageOC.com. To help further, please consider volunteering or donating to Diakonia. For more information, please call (410) 213-0923 or visit their website at DiakoniaOC.org.
