May 8, 2017 — The Villas and Fernwood Resort have joined with Shawnee Mountain to create a two-day Wurst Festival package for the weekend event being held at Shawnee Mountain July 22nd – 23rd from 11 am to 5 pm. Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for the Resort, says, “Shawnee Mountain has created a great lineup of festivals from early spring to late fall. Eat German foods, listen to Celtic music, feast on garlic, get your fill of sweet corn and barbecue, eat great food truck fare, and see lumberjacks compete – there is something for everyone. We have partnered with them to create packages that make it easy to take a mini getaway to the Pocono Mountains.”

Resort packages include two one-day tickets to the festival and two nights of studio villa accommodations starting from $253 a night. Bertucci continues, “We recommend spending the day at the festival eating wursts, shopping for crafts, listening to music, dancing to polka music and generally enjoying the beauty of the Poconos in summer. Then return to the resort to relax with a drink and enjoy live entertainment at Wintergreens, take a swim, go canoeing on the Delaware River, try our aerial adventure ropes course and zip lines in the dark, take a horseback ride, slide down the mountain at Blue Lightning all-season tubing or head out to the links for a round of golf.”

The Wurst Festival features two stages of music with German Oompah bands and polka bands, crafts and traditional costumed dancers, plus all of the wursts, wieners, kielbasa, pierogies, ethnic vendors and crafted brews you can imagine. Fun for the kids includes Brat Man living statue, “Hot Dog” Pig Races, rubber duck races, Bavarian Juggling Shows, face painting, and a huge inflatable Bavarian Slide.

The Villas and Fernwood Resort make up a 400-acre four-season vacation destination located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains minutes from Shawnee Mountain. The property offers a long list of on-site amenities including Pocono Zip Racer dual racing zip lines, Pocono TreeVentures aerial ropes adventure course, Pocono Zip Quest hybrid zip line course, Pocono KidVentures children’s rope course, Blue Lightning all-season tubing, golf on an 18-hole par 71 course, horseback riding, live entertainment, Wintergreens Patio Grill with lakeside dining and summer theme nights, a video game area, massage, a fitness center, bumper boats, hiking in the nearby Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, canoeing on the Delaware River, paintball, miniature golf and special offers to nearby attractions including The Crossings Premium Outlets and Bushkill Falls.
