Westgate Resorts is giving away 1,500 free vacations to U.S. military personnel beginning Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. EST at www.WestgateSalutes.com. Since initiating the giveaway eight years ago, Westgate has provided more than 25,000 free nights to eligible military personnel and their families on Veterans Day.
“This special Westgate tradition is about helping military families reconnect. We believe in the importance of relaxation and taking time to connect as a family on vacation,” said David Siegel, Founder & CEO of Westgate Resorts and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. “Our goal is to give active military personnel who have served in combat a chance to share a special experience with their loved ones.”
Starting at 9 a.m. EST on Nov. 9, 2018, the first 1,500 eligible military personnel who visit www.WestgateSalutes.com, complete the online military appreciation form and place a fully refundable $100 deposit will receive a complimentary stay for up to four guests at Westgate Town Center Resort & Spa or Westgate Vacation Villas Resort & Spa during the weekend of May 10-12, 2019. Both full-service resorts feature world-class amenities and are just one mile from the main entrance to Walt Disney World Resort. The 1,500 free vacations are for military members who have deployed to a combat zone, combat veterans, Gold Star families and their immediate family members. A valid DD214 for combat veterans or a currently active Military ID card will be required in order to receive final confirmation.
During their stay in Orlando, all attendees will receive a complimentary three-day, two-night stay in a Studio Villa(additional nights can be purchased), free admission for up to four guests to the on-site Shipwreck Island Water Parkand access to a Military Resource Fair featuring more than 20 nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting our service members.
The highlight of the weekend will be a patriotic concert headlining Gary Sinise’s acclaimed Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Actor and philanthropist, Sinise established the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011 to honor our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. Through the Foundation, the 13-member Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band have performed around the world covering hits from every genre as a thank you and expression of gratitude for our nation’s heroes. The outdoor concert will be preceded by activities for the families and complimentary concessions. The concert will culminate in a spectacular fireworks show.
