Vidanta Golf – Grupo Vidanta golf course developer – and KemperSports – the leading golf management company in North America – celebrated the opening of The Lakes Course, the third golf experience in Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, on Friday, September 22.
Mexico’s leading golf course operator and developer, Vidanta Golf teamed up with Chet Williams, a member of the Jack Nicklaus Design group, to develop the unique and funfilled ten-hole, lighted, par 3 The Lakes Course. It joins the renowned Norman Signature Course and the Nicklaus Design Course as the third golf course at the destination, offering guests the option of enjoying a shorter course during their stay, whether day or night.
“As our history demonstrates, Vidanta is constantly at the forefront of golf and tourism development,” said Iván Chávez, executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta. “We are committed to bringing the best of the industry to our customers, which is why we have developed this first short field experience, unique in its kind.”
The Lakes Course was inspired by some of the finest short courses that are in world class destinations such as Augusta National and Bandon Dunes , and includes spectacular obstacles over small lakes and sand traps at almost every hole. With a design designed to walk you along and with the longest tee (146m), the course offers guests the option of using portable golf club bags available at the golf store for easy handling. The illuminated design also offers a great entertainment option for guests who prefer a round of game at night.
The course is also designed in a natural valley in the center of the resort, beneath magnificent wooden paths of Vidanta providing a stadium atmosphere for spectators and passers-by. It has Emerald Paspalum grass , with incredible floral landscapes framing each hole and the slopes that are around. The camp will be open daily for resort guests and the general public; departure times will be available by phone or online prioritized for members and special guests of Vida Vacations private club.
The debut of The Lakes Course adds to the prestigious portfolio of Vidanta Golf, which includes the Nicklaus Design Course, the Norman Signature Course and the Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf that gave Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Silver Medal Resort status by the magazine Golf. Special mention deserves the Nicklaus Design Course at Vidanta Puerto Peñasco, which has been named one of the best golf courses in Mexico and the Caribbean by Golfweek.
