Karma Royal Group was founded by visionary chairman John Spence, who pioneered the holiday ownership concept in Asia through Royal Resorts and then continued to innovate with the launch of luxury sister brand Karma Resorts, which is at the vanguard of the villa resort model. The company is and has always been a privately owned, debt free business with an ever burgeoning industry profile both in the holiday ownership and luxury villa resort categories. Karma Royal now operates 21 resorts with a further 4 currently under development. 

Karma Royal recently launched a third brand, Chakra, comprising unique 4 Star resort developments around the world. The group's flagship resort, Karma Kandara won two prestigious CNBC Property Awards while stand alone wellness brand Kama Spa has won numerous industry accolades, including Best Spa in Bali by the island's leading lifestyle magazine, the YAK. The group's food & beverage outlets are held in similarly high regard, with flagship eatery di Mare listed amongst the best restaurants in Indonesia by Tatler Magazine. 

With the emergence of Beach Clubs International and the launch of 4 new beach clubs planned for 2012, this division will only gain more attention. Spence himself was named Australian Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 by Ernst & Young, in recognition of his success in building a multimillion-dollar business from the ground up, one that has provided investors and holiday club members with outstanding returns - both financially and in terms of access to a privileged lifestyle.
