Now that we’re halfway through 2011, what’s the mood of the industry? Good, bad or indifferent? Having a great year or on a treadmill – working hard but not getting too far?

I think the global economic uncertainty is throwing a wet blanket over what last year was a more optimistic attitude. It just doesn’t “feel” as good as it did last year. Is it just because I am in Mexico or is it a non-geographical or multi-geographical feeling?

I would have to say most likely it is Mexico from where I am sitting (Las Vegas). I personally believe the US is struggling, but everyone on my table seems to be back to normal(pre 08 attitudes). Nearly every owner I mention Mexico to say’s their is no way they are going down there right now. Most every owner is scared to death of going to Mexico which is unfortunate because the resorts are so nice. You need to get a better marketing campaign in place. Mexico should hire some political strategists from the US, they know how to make things sound better than they are. Lol

Life in Italy may be a bit brighter, we have had a good first 6 months and have already achieved last years sales. There are definitely people out their with money and we have had no requests for financing, Finding clients to visit is always a challenge but when we get them to our development we are getting very good conversion rates. Our interest from the USA is improving but completing on sales with Americans is more difficult than with our European clients. We are only a small boutique business but we seem to attracting willing purchasers to our project. Long may it continue. Thanks

The United States timeshare is still better then what is on other places…People are still buying every day of 100 the ave is 30% -40%. It is hard work and messing with the head but over all the resort floor is happy and so are the bosses. 2011 will be a very nice year.
