Just in time for Christmas, Wyndham Resort Denarau Island has facilitated much needed repairs to the bathroom facilities at Nerawa Kindergarten on Denarau Island, thanks to a generous donation from delegates of the (ATHOC) Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council.
The works, which include new sinks, toilets, tiles, faucets and fresh paint took place after a generous donation from delegates of the (ATHOC) Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council during their annual conference on Denarau Island in September this year.
“We hope the children and teachers will be thrilled with the new bathroom facilities when they return in the New Year, and we were very pleased to be able to facilitate the repair works on behalf of ATHOC,” said Brad Downton, General Manager, Wyndham Resort Denarau Island.
Every year, Australian timeshare operators attract more than 50,000 holidaymakers to Fiji who spend an estimated FJ$23 million dollars annually. Operators with resorts in Fiji include Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, Accor Vacation Club and Ultiqa.
“Thousands of Australian timeshare owners enjoy holidays in Fiji each year, and on behalf of the industry we are delighted to be able to give back to the communities in which Australian timeshare resorts operate,” said Laura Younger, General Manager of ATHOC.
The next project to take place as a result of ATHOC’s community donation are repairs to bathroom facilities at Ralete Primary School in Moala.
The timeshare industry makes regular contributions to Fijian communities through a range of charity programs, while resorts also run their own community initiatives.
