Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), expanded its presence in Latin America with the opening of an office in São Paulo, headed by Fernando Martinelli, executive director of resort sales and service for Brazil.
“This reinforces Interval’s commitment to the region, where we currently have offices throughout Mexico and in Argentina and Colombia,” said Marcos Agostini, Interval’s senior vice president of resort sales and business development for Latin America. “We’re very pleased that Fernando has joined our team. His market knowledge and hospitality experience will be tremendous assets as we continue to expand our business in the country.” [member]
Brazil is among the area’s leaders in tourism, and has the potential to become a stronger market for shared ownership. Interval commissioned a soon-to-be-released shared ownership market perspective study to provide developers and sellers with insights into the evolving product preferences, vacation habits, and intentions of leisure travelers who reside in Brazil. The study was conducted this summer by Ipsos Reid, one of the world’s most prominent survey based market research firms.
Interval’s office is located at Avenida das Nações Unidas, 14.171, 15º andar, Marble Tower, São Paulo, SP – Brazil – 04794-000. Martinelli can be reached by phone at (5511) 3568-2043 or via email at Fernando.Martinelli@intervalintl.com. His responsibilities include providing sales, marketing, and operations support to Interval’s existing affiliated resorts, as well as building the company’s developer client base in the region. Martinelli was formerly director at FBM Training and Development, a consulting firm specializing in market and feasibility studies, and appraisals for luxury hotels and resorts. [/member]
