Spain Adopts New European Union Timeshare Directive
March 16, 2012The Resort Development Organisation (RDO), the timeshare trade association for Europe, has announced that Spain has passed the European Timeshare Directive into national law. According to RDO, the Spanish government approved the Directive today and it is expected to take effect the day following its publication in the Official State Bulletin, perhaps as early as next week. All timeshare companies in Spain will need to ensure that they are in full compliance by the date of publication.
The Directive was originally approved by the EU governing body in February, 2011 but was then sent to each member nation to be adopted into the national legal structure of each participating country.
