August 13, 2010As Central Florida’s existing theme parks add new attractions and a newcomer plans to enter the market, the resort corridor and its shared-ownership resorts are poised for a tourism boom

Central Florida is experiencing a themepark expansion not seen since before 9/11. For a region that hangs its hat on movie- and cartoon-character-focused attractions, what’s going on, especially at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, are like the first green shoots after a long, hard winter– and that is great news for shared ownership.

“Orlando is the theme park capital of the world and we welcome the variety of experiences and great additions that SeaWorld, Disney and Universal bring to this market,” said Ed Kinney, vice president of corporate affairs and brand awareness for Marriott Vacation Club International. “So many of our owners enjoy coming back to this destination year after year to enjoy our resorts and the world-class entertainment.”
