Anantara Vacation Club, an exclusive collection of luxurious vacation ownership resorts and suites and subsidiary of the Minor Hotel Group, has launched the first event of its new Guest Chef Series. On 22-23 February 2018, Anantara Vacation Club hosted guest chef and acclaimed pizzaiolo, Alessandro Pagano, at their signature Club Resort, located in Mai Khao Beach, Phuket. Alessandro comes from Naples, Italy, where he has acquired a wealth of knowledge and perfection in the craft of authentic Neapolitan-style pizza.
At just 24 years old, Alessandro is the first chef in South East Asia certified by the AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana – Italy), and has showcased his talents at the Pizza Expo of Las Vegas, The World Championship of Pizza in Naples and throughout Thailand, where he is currently the head chef of an acclaimed pizzeria.
The launch was a great success, with some Club Points Owners flying in from overseas to attend. The event was hosted at the terrace of Crust Restaurant, located on the Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket property. In addition to the two-night event, Chef Alessandro spent three days with the resort’s kitchen staff, training them in the art of Neapolitan pizza-making.
“By hosting events such as the Guest Chef Series, we are providing guests with experiences that include much more than accommodation.” said Anantara Vacation Club’s Chief Operating Officer, Maurizio Bisicky. “No other vacation club in Asia is doing this, and by inviting the guest chefs to train our staff, we are also ensuring that the experience will live on at our resorts for other guests to enjoy, long after the chefs have returned to their homes. Our current focus is to continue to unveil more of these types of innovations that make Anantara Vacation Club a favourite amongst our guests and one of the leaders in the industry.”
Plans are currently underway to bring more celebrity chefs to Anantara Vacation Club Resorts located throughout the Asia Pacific region.
