Orlando, Florida – August 24, 2015 – (INTUITION by Perspective Group) – Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX) achieved record transactional growth the first half of this year, with timeshare exchanges up 36 percent over the first and second quarters of 2014.
In addition, RTX set a company record for discounted travel services, which shot up 393 percent over the year-ago period. Last-minute getaways rose too, marking an impressive 16 percent gain.
During the first half of 2015, the global timeshare exchange provider facilitated 1,811 exchanges; 1,176 getaways; and 1,362 discounted travel transactions for hotels, cruises, car rentals, dining and attractions. The average time to fulfill all requests was 4.4 days, well below the industry average.
These gains follow on the heels of record-breaking, year-over-year transactional growth for RTX in 2014.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our staff for driving incredible growth,” says Justin Hunter, vice president of operations, RTX. “At the same time, our team continues to deliver exceptional, personalized service for each of our customers.”
Hunter says the uptick reflects not only the company’s stellar service, but also the growing popularity of key programs launched in mid 2014. These include enhanced travel discounts for Premium and Premium Plus members and Voyages by RTX.
The discount program for Premium and Premium Plus members provide significant savings on hotels, car rentals, excursions and other vacation activities. Voyages by RTX offers generous deals on a full range of travel products for people who do not own timeshare properties.
RTX supports these and other value-added programs with education initiatives, such as weekly and bi-weekly emails to customers highlighting new benefits and promotions. Additionally, the quarterly RTX Traveler magazine serves to deepen members’ understanding of how exchange enriches the vacation ownership experience.
Part of the growth also came from RTX’s increased presence at industry events. With an aim to continually expand its offerings through new strategic partnerships, the company has stepped up activities at major gatherings. This year alone, it is sponsoring, attending or exhibiting at: ARDA World Conference, Global Networking Expo (GNEX Conference), Canadian Resort Conference (CRC), National Timeshare Owners Association (NTOA) Regional Meetings, C.A.R.E. Spring and Fall Conferences as well as events by Timeshare Industry Young Professionals (TIYP) operated by ARDA and Timeshare Association (TATOC).
While RTX is primarily an exchange company, it has also expanded operational support for homeowners associations, management companies and resorts. RTX now offers cost-effective member services, assistance with delinquent and unsold inventory, a rental platform and preferred alliance vendor relationship to assist with other areas of resort management.
RTX opened for business in 2012 and now serves 80,000 members with its fresh approach to vacation exchange. The company works with a global network of partners to provide vast exchange options and offers different levels of membership to suit a full range of travel needs. Members enjoy low exchange fees; flexible split-week reservations; travel rewards; great savings on getaway week promotions; and the longest deposit period in the exchange industry, lasting up to four years. They also gain membership at airport lounges and generous savings on hotel accommodations, car rentals, dining, cruises and tickets to attractions. The result is significant savings as well as the convenience of planning an entire vacation in one consolidated package.
