July 21, 2017 – Pueblo Bonito Golf & Spa Resorts is celebrating its 30th anniversary as one of Mexico’s premier hotel firms. Starting with a single hotel in Mazatlan in 1987, the hospitality company has since become a dominant player in Los Cabos, the fastest-growing vacation destination in the hemisphere.

Over the span of three decades, this family-owned business has debuted five additional all-inclusive hotels and two villa properties in Los Cabos and Mazatlan.

Just as Pueblo Bonito set the bar for luxury travel in Mazatlan 30 years ago, a similar impact was made in the Cabo San Lucas region in 1991. That’s when the company’s first resort in Los Cabos opened on Médano Beach, its suites and restaurants oriented to the distinctive rock formations at Land’s End. Six years later, when Pueblo Bonito Rosé opened next door featuring a soft-red façade, the original hotel took the nickname “Blanco” for its pure white exterior.

In 2001, the luxury Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort & Spa opened in the exclusive area of Nuevo Mazatlan, offering spacious suites, stunning pool areas and a European-style spa on a private beach.

Signaling a surge of growth in the new millennium, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach opened in 2002 on a 1,200-acre site, just 10 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas. Fronting a 2.5-mile stretch of beach on the Sea of Cortes, Sunset Beach is a family-friendly, multi-terraced resort with 635 junior and executive suites.

Following the 2004 debut of Montecristo Estates Luxury Villas, an exclusive gated resort community featuring beautifully-appointed three-bedroom villas, the company unveiled Pueblo Bonito Pacifica in 2005. Designed to showcase the unique beauty of the Baja Peninsula’s mountain-desert-ocean environment, this adults-only, all-inclusive hotel redefined the upscale Cabo vacation experience for couples.

The design of the company’s golf course, Quivira Golf Club, was entrusted to the game’s greatest champion, Jack Nicklaus. Taming a rugged site marked by massive dunes, sheer cliffs and desert foothills was no easy task for the Golden Bear, but his final routing yielded a strategic and aesthetic masterpiece. The Quivira Golf Club features more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos, and was recognized as the “Best New International Course of the Year” by Golf Magazine when it opened in 2014. The breathtaking and challenging course has since garnered additional recognitions, and is the cornerstone of the residential development, Quivira Los Cabos.

The Towers at Pacifica, a “resort within a resort” opened last year, elevated the adults-only, all-inclusive property to the ultra-luxury category. A multi-building expansion with beautifully appointed accommodations, the Towers at Pacifica offers a range of enhanced VIP amenities, including 24-hour butler service. The expansion at Pacifica also included Peninsula, a new and sophisticated gourmet restaurant and lounge featuring regional Baja cuisine.

Another 2016 addition was The Market at Quivira, a unique culinary concept unlike any other in Los Cabos. The Market features an array of eateries and has quickly become Cabo’s top gastronomic “food hall” experience.

Thirty years of epic achievements, with more to follow. The saga of Pueblo Bonito, Quivira Los Cabos and future hospitality brands continues, but the company’s ethos remains true to its original idea to exceed expectations and offer guests the highest quality service.
