Hilton Grand Vacations Orlando Corporate Office Celebrates Annual Hilton Worldwide Global Month Of Service

Team Members help strengthen our community with an afternoon of service in support of the U.S. military and local homeless population

Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) is proud to again celebrate as part of Hilton Worldwide’s annual Global Month of Service, hosting more than 150 Team Members for an afternoon of service in support of Operation Shoebox and Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. Led by HGV President Mark Wang, Team Members will assemble 1,250 care packages containing essential items often taken for granted.

During the event, Team Members will take part in three distinct service projects, which include the assembly of 500 care kits for local homeless, assembly of 750 care packages for members of the U.S. military serving overseas, and tying of paracord survival bracelets, which will be included as part of the military care packages.

Representatives from Fairways for Warriors, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting combat wounded veterans through golf, will also be in attendance to share their personal stories and highlight the importance of supporting those serving in the military.

“Our culture is one of service – both to our members and guests, as well as to one another. So, we naturally have a passion to also serve our communities,” says Mark Wang, president of HGV. “We’re 6,500 people strong and growing, and as our business grows, so do our opportunities to make an even larger collective impact that is significant and lasting.”

Since the inaugural service celebration in 2012, HGV volunteers have provided support to more than 80 projects worldwide contributing more than 5,000 hours of community service. Last year in just one week, HGV hosted more than 50 projects in three countries, volunteering more than 3,200 hours. Hilton Worldwide aims to complete 3,750 projects across its global footprint.

“Now in my fourth year as Community Champion, I continue to be amazed by the passion with which our Team Members volunteer,” says Neil Peraza, vice president of resort operations for HGV. “Global Month of Service expands its reach each year and truly is reflective of HGV’s dedication to our Orlando community as well as the diverse communities globally in which our Team Members live and work.”

Global Month of Service is Hilton Worldwide’s largest annual community service initiative and mobilizes hundreds of thousands of Team Members from every region to engage in numerous volunteer events and activities happening around the world. Throughout the month, more than 1,000 HGV Team Members will participate in more than 30 volunteer events around the globe. Photos, videos and stories will be posted on the Hilton Grand Vacations Facebook page and on the @HiltonGrandVac Twitter account.
