Architectural Concepts, Inc. a full service planning, architectural and interior design firm, has been named as a finalist in the prestigious ARDA Awards program. Each year, The American Resort Development Association (ARDA), the trade association which represents the timeshare vacation ownership and resort development industry, hosts ARDA World, an annual gathering of timeshare professionals. Along with the annual conference, ARDA hosts an Annual Awards Gala to recognize the best people, resorts and products in the timeshare industry.
This year, the winning “ARDYs” will be revealed at the Awards Gala, April 15, 2015 at the Marriott World Center Resort in Orlando. All finalists in the competition are selected from hundreds of entries submitted by ARDA members and judged independently in a confidential/blind judging process.
Architectural Concepts was selected as a finalist in two Interior Design Categories. The first, for Interior Design is for the Seahorse Beach Club & Residences (Freeport, TX). The design is inspired by “Old Galveston” with a feeling of country club meets the beach. Seahorse homes are designed to capture the drive-to luxury beach goer from Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Dallas and have an open-air design, maximizing natural sunlight, the Gulf breezes, and the beautiful Drum Bay and Gulf of Mexico views. Interior design details include open living and gathering spaces, optimal views from every room, luxury appliances, furnishings that are casually elegant and comfortable with colors in finishes and textiles that are drawn from the outdoors, reflecting the beach, the sky, and the sun. All homes come equipped with private elevators for the care and convenience of transporting guests and gear into the home.
The firm’s second finalist slot is for Interior Design: Sales Center. Architectural Concepts received the recognition for its work on Silverleaf Resorts’ recently opened Sales Center, located outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Margit Whitlock, Principal, Architectural Concepts “our design was influenced by the demographic of the buyers in Atlanta. The Idea was to provide a high-tech social environment in the reception lobby, with hospitality in mind, not a holding pen like so many other waiting areas,” she said. The new sales center for an 18,000 sq. ft. free standing building included a spacious 5000 sq. ft. lobby and a sales floor for 180 people.
This is not the first time Architectural Concepts has been lauded by the resort industry. ACI has also won the highly coveted American Resort Development Association’s ARDY and Silver Awards for Best Resort Design in Architecture and Interiors for Cibola Vista Resort and Spa, Peoria, AZ, Club Regina, Cancun and Cabo, MX and Lawrence Welk Resort Villas, San Diego, CA.
ACI primarily focuses on the hospitality and commercial markets. ACI’s Principal, Margit E. Whitlock, AIA, is a licensed architect in California, Arizona, and Florida. For more information www.4designs.com
