Orlando, Florida – August 16, 2016 – (INTUITION Brand Marketing) – Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX), the premier vacation exchange company that offers members a highly flexible vacation ownership exchange platform, highlights two unique and fun festivals that its members can enjoy and experience this fall.

RTX provides a variety of flexible and affordable travel options to its members and offers customer-centric solutions for its partner resorts and management companies. The company’s popular vacation exchange platform offers low exchange fees, up to a four-year deposit window, and additional travel perks such as hotel discounts, air, car rental, restaurants, airport lounge membership, an exclusive club publication, and more.

The company’s customer focused mindset includes drawing attention to great vacation ideas through member communications. RTX regularly promotes seasonal events and destination guides, giving members helpful insights into new potential travel locations, local offerings and even unique festivals or events in popular exchange destinations that are sure to have something every member of the family can enjoy.

This fall’s highlighted events that RTX is showcasing for its members are the Annual Woolly Worm Festival held in Banner Elk, North Carolina, and the Kokanee Salmon Festival hosted by the Taylor Creek Visitor Center in Lake Tahoe. Each of these quirky and unique festivals is centered around an animal of importance or relevance to the community and offers activities and fun for all members of the family while promoting the local artisans and heritage.

“We know many members plan their vacations around big events happening in their favorite destinations. We also love to help our members discover more unique and lesser-known events that may lead to a new family tradition. These two festivals just might be the perfect fit for some members,” said Justin Hunter, vice president of operations for RTX.

RTX members are welcomed to celebrate the annual fall migration of the Kokanee salmon during the Fall Fish Festival, at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center in Lake Tahoe. Also known as the Kokanee Salmon Festival, this event will take place on October 1 and 2 and offers guests a full day of activities and fun. The festival activities will include a treasure hunt, fish painting and visits from the mascots of the festival, Sandy and Rocky Salmon, Lulu the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout and even a visit from Smokey Bear.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics while they enjoy the festivities, and can enjoy a treat or snack from the local Bumble Bee Ice Cream Truck or the Tacos Por Favor truck that will be offering their wares at the festival grounds. For the runners in the family, Mountain Milers will be sponsoring the Kokanee Trail Runs on Sunday, October 2, and will include a half marathon, a children’s race called the Tadpole Trot and the standard 5K and 10K runs later in the morning.

The 39th Annual Woolly Worm Festival will take place on October 15 and 16, 2016, in the mountain town of Banner Elk, North Carolina. The event is co-hosted by the Avery County Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Organization of Banner Elk and gives families and guests a quaint and very unique experience with over 160 local craft and food vendors, inflatable rides, live music and dance teams.

The real star of this event is the woolly worm, the caterpillar form of the Isabella tiger moth. The fall season is one of two yearly moments where this species of moth can be spotted in great numbers all over the countryside. Highlights of the event are the annual “Woolly Worm Races” that offer guests and attendees the opportunity to race their own Woolly Worm, which are abundant throughout the back roads of the area, or they can purchase a Woolly Worm from one of the vendors at the Festival. One race takes place each day and they offer cash prizes to the winners as well as a winning trophy for the top placing worms.
