The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS) today announced that members of the company’s management team and board of directors will ring The Opening Bell® on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. The company was first listed on the NYSE on December 14, 1993, exactly 25 years ago to the day.

“From one small movie theatre in Ripon, Wisconsin to a national leader in lodging and entertainment, The Marcus Corporation has celebrated many meaningful milestones over the past 83 years,” said Gregory S. Marcus, president and chief executive officer of The Marcus Corporation. “We are proud to be included among an elite group of companies who have traded on the NYSE for 25 or more years. On behalf of our board of directors and senior management team, we are grateful to our shareholders for their confidence and to our associates whose hard work and dedication has driven continued innovation, service and results.”

Founded by Ben Marcus in 1935, The Marcus Corporation has expanded from a single movie theatre to a leader in the lodging and entertainment industries with two divisions, Marcus Theatres® and Marcus® Hotels & Resorts. Today, Marcus Theatres is the fourth largest theatre circuit in the U.S. and recently announced its planned acquisition of the Movie Tavern circuit, the company’s second acquisition in two years. Marcus Hotels & Resorts, which was started from the purchase of The Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee in 1962, has grown to now own and/or manage 21 hotels, resorts and other properties across the U.S. The same entrepreneurial spirit that created The Marcus Corporation continues on as the company pursues its growth strategies.
