The Third Asonahores Tourism Investment Forum took place on December 2 at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in Santo Domingo, with an agenda focused on “Overview of the Dominican Tourism Industry: Challenges and Opportunities”. At the event, the president and vice president of the entity, Paola Rainieri de Díaz and Andrés Marranzini, respectively, recognized key representatives of the island’s tourism industry. Alex Zozaya received the highest award, “Dominican Tourism Champion”, for his unwavering support to strengthen the nation’s travel sector.

“The Dominican Republic has long been one of the great global destinations, and for many years has played a key part of Apple Leisure Group’s growth strategy,” said Zozaya. “Throughout my career I’ve witnessed the country’s tourism scene change, evolve and grow, which makes this honor all the more personal and fulfilling. I look forward to continue collaborating with Asonahores, and contribute to the ongoing strengthening of this unique destination.”

Zozaya currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Apple Leisure Group and boasts an extensive professional trajectory with a thorough understanding of the tourism industry, result of three decades serving in diverse roles, always with enthusiasm, dedication and innovative vision. These qualities enabled him to establish the only vertically integrated group in North America.  ALG’s various companies and leading brands offer a competitive advantage that position the group among the largest providers of charter flights, and main generators of North American travelers to Mexico and the Caribbean.
