SpaWyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific Sydney is celebrating its milestone 10th anniversary next month.

The stylish CBD property was the first urban hotel in the Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific (formerly Trendwest) portfolio, for the use of vacation owners and guests of the WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham.

The hotel, which is ideally located on Wentworth Ave a short walk from Hyde Park, was purchased in August 2005 and welcomed its first WorldMark South Pacific Club owners on October 1, 2005.

It has since grown to become one of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s most popular properties, running at 90% occupancy rates year round. More than 30,000 people chose to holiday at Wyndham Sydney in 2014 and in excess of 20,000 have stayed at the property so far in 2015.

President and Managing Director of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, Barry Robinson, said the 10-year anniversary was a significant achievement.

“Wyndham Sydney is a fantastic hotel that remains as popular today as it was the day it opened for operation,” Mr Robinson said. “In the highly competitive Sydney hotel market, Wyndham Sydney has become known for its excellent customer service and friendly staff, which have made it a favourite among vacation owners and guests for many years.”

The milestone anniversary coincides with Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific welcoming the 50,000th vacation owner to its WorldMark South Pacific Club, as well as the company’s 15th birthday, in 2015.

Wyndham Sydney employs 29 operational and support staff as well as 60 employees in sales and marketing.

The team culture at the hotel is extremely strong, with the majority of the staff having been employed at the resort for more than five years.  Regional Director of Resort Operations, Markus Sigmann and Duty Manager Jerome Valdez have been with the hotel from the day it opened and are also celebrating 10 years of service in 2015.

In its decade of operation, Wyndham Sydney has established itself as an integral part of the local community providing support and assistance to local businesses, charities and organisations through fundraisers and donations.

“It is impossible to run such a successful hotel without the support and dedication of our staff,” Mr Robinson said. “We could not have reached this important milestone without their hard work and commitment to consistently providing an excellent experience for our guests.”
